This requires careful reading. You will struggle to grok it all if not familiar with programming terminology and concepts as well as some practical experience with command line, but doable if you are a determined enough non-technical. Clear, precise and thoroughly comprehensive. Useful to have 2nd edition open at same time. This and Jimmy Song’s “Programming Bitcoin” are the two seminal works and are becoming classics in Bitcoin.

Canonical Textbook
I still need to finish reading the bitcoinbook3 from A to Z. However, this week, it helped me solve an impossible code challenge from Chaincode Labs. The challenge was absolutely out of the realms of GPT4 knowledge base, but using the search engine from the Kindle app and typing the keyword “descriptors”, the book delivered the exact information I needed to find my way through a taproot problem and have the GitHub autograder evaluate my solution as correct. It is fundamental to me to possess the official version in my pocket and be able to Ctrl+F through the material in my day-to-day practice in Bitcoin. This is the base, the most important reference in the field, which deserves dedicated educational programs for thorough exploration. It is a pre-requisite for all serious Bitcoin developer programs in existence.Mastering Bitcoin, from day one, has always been the scalar element in the career of a Bitcoin developer and technically inclined bitcoin users. This is the start and the zenith of your Bitcoin journey…

Not for beginners
First, you already need to have a lot of knowledge about Bitcoin to understand this book. It has no clear outline in my opinion in the way that it does not build up any intuition. Rather, it feels like a lexicon where you could sporadically go through chapters to get deep-knowledge information about some topics. But not suited for beginners or people that would like to learn more about the technology behind Bitcoin.
