Cryptocurrencies are changing the world. They grant everyday people the power to invest, disrupt the world order and contribute towards a better future.

Blockchain is the ingeniously simple technology that powers cryptos. It is a public ledger to which everyone has access, but which no single person or institution controls. It allows for companies and individuals to collaborate with an unprecedented degree of trust and transparency. It is cryptographically secure, but fundamentally open. And it is everywhere.

In Blockchain Revolution, Don and Alex Tapscott reveal:

· how this game-changing technology is re-shaping the global economy
· how it is improving everything from healthcare records to online voting
· how people everywhere are using it to side-step institutional barriers and take control of their future

Brilliantly researched and highly accessible, this is the essential text on this major paradigm shift. Read it, or be left behind.

10 reviews for Blockchain Revolution: How the Technology Behind Bitcoin and Other Cryptocurrencies is Changing the World

  1. Kindle Customer

Brilliant book, well explained concepts and some fantastic real life examples. On how the Blockchain can be integrated into society

  2. Black Kiwi Event

This is THE book to read for an early conceptual understanding of the potential of this incredible leap in human organisation. Such an exciting time for the world. Here is a developed idea that can reset stagnant/decaying political, social and economic systems. It is not just Bitcoin. Once people realise what we are dealing with it will, for example, change the nature of political delineation. Who knows where this ends? The authoritarian left and libertarian far right may well end up embracing each other as both their high-level objectives have been met. Great book, well written.

  3. Blue day

It’s an ok book, but can’t say I was enthusiastic. It does a good job of covering current developments around blockchain, but it doesn’t develop a powerful vision. Some of the chapters, like the one on IoT, seem to mix the narrative on blockchain with that of other technologies.

  4. icemeister

Deeply frustrating … lot’s of breathless vision about what a blockchain future might look like without any substance as to how. I have a rough idea as to how blockchain technology works and was keen to fill in the gaps with this book. What I got was a growing sense of irritation at the endless flow of flow of excited claim after excited claim without any real foundations. My summary of the book is: “Let’s assume blockchain will change the world, if we do that … then look, blockchain changes the world!” These guys have been working on blockchain, and with people at the heart of the blockchain disruption for a few years it seems. I’m surprised they published such a lightweight book.

  5. Konstantin Sofeikov

The book is extremely repetitive. The very same idea is being repeated in a slightly different wording from page to page.Would only recommend as a non technical reading. For technical details of blockchain try something else

  6. Amazon Customer

Almost all claims in the book are just guessing and theories, no hard data or specific on ROI of blockchain projects has been provided. Also a lot of unfounded claims not related to blockchain (e.g. women rights, etc…). I would call the ideas in the book at least dangerous, it gives impression of new religious movement than real scientific understanding of blockchain impact on society.

  7. Amazon Customer

This book is light on information but heavy on words. The authors claim (reasonably) that they can’t predict the future and then spend most of the book attempting to do so. A more rigorous and less evangelical approach would have been useful.

  8. J

A superficial and overly verbose description of speculative uses for blockchain which the authors often conflate with other unrelated technologies. Overall, this book reads like the Tapscotts didn’t really grasp the fundamentals of the technology and instead decided to pad the text out with extended quotes from others. This is a book that breathlessly explores the uses of a technology that the authors didn’t understand – take that as you will.

    Pleasant to read
It’s a nice read. The author has done a good job cultivating the blockchain status quo and future aspirations. However, the book’s second half can benefit from some trimming; there are some repetitions of ideas and too much wordy text.I also wish the book could be extended to include cyber-attacks in the crypto field, some drilling on crypto legalities, and a roadmap for friendly legal ways for crypto startup founders, as I am sure many of them have read this book. After all, I shouldn’t expect that one book to cover it all, but these are suggestions. Thanks.
